    1960
    Yamamoto Hatsujo Bunki, Inc. (founded in 1908) and Nitto Industries, Inc. were merged together, and Sumikin Hatsujo Co., Ltd. was formed as an affiliate of Sumitomo Metal Industries, Ltd.

    1965
    Headquarters moved to Fujisawa
    Acquired Nitto Industries, Inc. and Amagasaki Factory was opened.

    1970
    Factories were united in Fujisawa Factory.

    1975
    NHK Spring Co., Ltd. acquired shares from Sumitomo Metal Industries, Ltd. and company name was changed to Sumihatsu Co., Ltd.
    1978
    Acquired Nikken Spring, Inc., an affiliate of NHK Spring Co., Ltd.
Capital: yen 345 million
    A new factory for spring clips was completed in the corner of in the Industrial Complex at Yamato-mura, Ibaraki.
    1980 ---1981
    Manufacturing of coil spring, turnout and leaf spring were moved to Tsukuba one by one.
    1981
    Fujisawa Factory was closed, and Tsukuba Factory started.
    1982
    Production line for automobile coil spring was commissioned.
    1983
    Headquarters moved to Yasuda Seimei Bldg., Iwamotocho, Tokyo.
    1988
    Strail (Noiseless railroad crossing system) was released.
    1990
    Installed a machining center for rail processing.
    1992
    Private power station was commissioned.
    1995
    Sumihatsu Services, Inc. was founded as an affiliate.
    1997
    Manufacturing of Balancer Assy was started.
    Business cooperation agreement was signed with Pandrol.
    1998
    Commercial production of Pandrol started.
    1999
    ISO 9001 (Leaf spring, Coil spring for automobiles) was certified.
    2000
    ISO 9001 (Industrial components, Special parts, and Turnout) was certified.
    Sumihatsu Services, Inc. started elderly care business.
    2001
    Production of synthetic sleeper started.
    2002
    Closed manufacturing of coil spring for automobiles.
    2003
    Received order for rail fastening device and turnouts for Taiwan Shinkansen.
    All of shares owned by Sumitomo Metals (Kokura), Ltd. was transferred to NHK Spring Co., Ltd.
    ISO 14001 was certified.
